I rented this apartment 9-24-11--10-05-11 from Lamar Sapp through Home Away Vacation Rentals. When we arrived we found that there was no towels in the apartment. There was nasty stains on the pillows and mattress pads.I don't even want to think about what bodily fluids caused the stains. We tried to get Mr Sapp to reply to our complaint with no response. I went out and purchased towels and a smoke detector. We did not feel comfortable sleeping in the apartment without a smoke detector, which was a good thing to buy because every night there would be cigarette smoke infiltrating our rental unit which was listed as a non smoking unit. There was a smell in the bathroom which we traced to a feces covered plunger by the toilet.The balcony was unusable because of the mildew covering the seating. There was no WI-FI or TV working which was in the listing as amenities.I had to make numerous requests for the return of my deposit and when I finally received it after the stated time frame in the contract and then not in full. When I asked Mr Sapp what the deduction was he never replied. Home Away would not post my complaint because they said that I didn't give them enough documentation to prove we stayed in the unit. The documentation I sent them, Pay Pal receipt for the full stay , cleaning and deposit, my emails from Mr Sapp and Western Union info concerning the return of my deposit and photos |
