1. Don't rent from Mark Kemp

Rented a home in 2007. When we arrived, the maid left a big mess of wet towels on the floor. The washing machine leaked into 2 rooms. The Satellite TV was out. We called him.He took 3 days to fix these things. Then accused us of flooding the floor. He came by with a friend and took him on a tour of the house, including our bedrooms. Then he wouldn't refund the security deposit. Ignored my calls for 5 months. I finally had to deny the charge with the credit card company. Google him. All his websites are gone.

2. St. George Home on Golf Course with Private Heated Pool and Putting Green

I am a travel agent and travel all over the world and this place was about the dirtiest place I have stayed.

Complaints#1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
The carpet is disgusting and stained we didn't dare take our shoes off. The furniture is stained and the hall bathroom was dirty especially the shower curtain and toilet that had blood or something worse on it? The rugs in both bathrooms had been used by other guests and had not been washed in between rentals. There was a used Olive Garden kids cup on the nightstand in the twin/trundle bedroom from previous renters also the shades don't work in that room either. There were clips on the dresser in the Master bedroom with hair in them? There was dark hair all over the Master bathroom. I took pictures as I always do to insure I am not taken advantage of as a consumer.

#10 As a travel agent and consumer when a person is charged $200-250 a night ethically there is a level of cleanliness and upkeep that needs to be maintained by the owner!

When we arrived at the home we had every bit of information on how to get in the house and figured there would be instructions on how to use the pool. In the the owners listing he states "we heat the pool to the mid 90's in the winter". So it was easy to believe that it would already be heated since we paid for Friday - Monday. NO It was ice cold and we mangaged to get it heated by Sunday and Monday it shut off and was ice cold again. We were only able to use the pool 1 day! I called the owner on Monday morning and got his voicemail. NO HELP!

It was alot of effort to travel here and to not get what we paid for. And the stress of the situation I came home with a headache (nice & relaxing!. He has offered me a $200.00 credit which is ridiculous I will not stay there again and he is aware of that!

3. False Advertising, Not Honoring Rental Agreement in Park City

The owners of this property sent me an e-mail advertising 75% off the regular rental rate, which I confirmed at the website. We agreed upon the dates and rates by phone and e-mail, and the owner was to send a rental contract. They subsequently informed me that they have a different party who is willing to pay twice the advertised rate, and will not honor their advertised rate and our verbal and e-mail agreement.

4. Unauthorized Credit Card charge

Connections Mgmt Group made unauthorized charge of $582 to my credit card for rental apartment at 10 Colebrook Ct., London, Eng. We demand full refund On or about January 4, 2011, Connections Management Group made an unauthorized charge to my credit card in the amount of $582.00. The charge was for a rental apartment located at 10 Colebrook Court, London, England. We have no agreement, written or verbal, with Connections authorizing them to charge us for this apartment. We have contacted Thomas Moore, a representative of Connections, by phone and email asking him to immediately refund our credit card for the full amount of $582.00. We have filed a complaint with the Utah Dept. of Commerce, Division of Consumer Protection against Connections and Thomas Moore seeking resolution to our claim.

6. Fraud in St. George

Inquired on listing from VRBO. Was told property was available for Thanksgiving weekend 2011. Sent check for $600. It was cashed and we were e-mailed confirmation of date. 2 weeks prior to vacation, we were told they had double-booked. They tried pushing us into a smaller home (2 bathrooms for 16 people.) We asked for a refund. They said they would, but have not set it 1 month later. Will no longer return e-mail.
