They never will leave you - they too addicted to your money...

I rented an average studio apt at 209 North Ft. Lauderdale Beach Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33304 nine years ago. It was very bad time for US - when 9/11 happened. I rented it from David Shwaery and Clifford Cone (on 11 floor)- for7 months and all 7 months payed top dollar for their empty, average, with dirty wall studio, when no one could pay no rent - economy went dramatically down and people lost their jobs...
Next door, in same building, people were renting marble floor, with great furniture apts for twice less than I payed to these guys - I was sending them every month to RI checks, issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank.
What happened next... When after 7 months I was moving out, I, practically was robbed by these guys. I left in apt series of big expensive canvases/ paintings (with an agreement to sign and send to me) so D. Shwaery could put them on display in his hair salon in RI (this is what he said we'd like to do).
When I called after couple of weeks, asking where paintings are, Clifford Cone said that they were demolished by workers who came to repair this apt after I left. Imaging my feelings...
And this is not all... I had many friends in that building, but doorman didn't let me come inside to the building after I moved out - my ex-landlords asked him not to.
Reason: these guys-Shwaery and Cone- after they performed their crime, decided to destroy me emotionally and make me look like a bad person in front of others, so I couldn't fight for my rights. And it almost happened.
As an active artist, I cannot function without my work. When I said to Shwaery that I will sue him for what he did, he said that he will tell to police that I didn't pay him rent, this is why he got paintings. (Rent was payed by checks and it is fact,)
Eventually, after many-many months of calling and askinng other people to talk to Shwaery, I got my paintings back. But damage had made. Emotional and physical.
I would never go back to this old story, if these crooks - or how to name them? (then they were around 65, and now over 70) didn't remind me about themselves. Before, in 2004, I was receiving from Shwaery lots of spam - emails, infected with spyware, he also did other damaging stuff online. After was a break for about 2 years, and now again this person bothers me with his spam and otherthing. I do not want to be bothered!
WARNING other people who going to rent property from those guys... They are never give up their bad activities (and you maybe even won't know it) and you risking stuck with them for many-many years even you won't remember their names - because they remember yours. Dangerous and nasty people, who use internet for their bad purposes.

PRETTY JOE ROCK, MARATHON, FL. ISLAND RENTAL
|
|
|
I tried to cancel my reservation 2 days prior to our arrival date because of needed emergency cardiac catheterization. I knew that cancellation policy wouldn't allow this, but I was hoping that the owner would have some compassion. I asked to select another date after the catheterization, and the owner would not permit it. They offered me another house in Marathon for the same time frame, but the problem wasn't with the rental, it was with the time. Since the owner wouldn't allow me to change dates or cancel, we went on the vacation to avoid loosing nearly $3500. I scheduled the procedure for the day we returned, and hoped and prayed for the best. Upon arriving, we found the refrigerator making a loud, banging noise. The next day it broke. The owner's solution was to provide us with a cooler and ice. After multiple heated phone calls we received a new refrigerator 2 dyas later. The house was overrun with palmetto bugs and roaches. We found them in the beds, under the beds, in the oven and all over the house.. . . . both dead and alive.....HUGE monsters, they were! The boat that comes with the island was extremely small, and was not anything like the one pictured in the advertisement. We were drenched in a pouring rainstorm trying to get the thing to turn over because the starter was bad. We had inadequate supply of propane for the week of our stay. . . . one small BBQ size tank
to run a dishwasher, washing machine, grill and 2 bathrooms.
We ran out of gas, and waited the better part of a day for a replacement. The house was in general dirty condition, with dust on the tabletops, glass marks on the tables and dust bunnies rolling on the floors. The house had no source of supplemental heat other than one bedroom, and the owner's solution was to use that and open the gas oven to heat the remainder of the house. TV remotes didn't work, and the windows leaked air. In 0 degree temps with gale force winds, it became excruciatingly cold in the house. The owner either argued with us or failed to respond when we complained.

American Vacation Homes

We have traveled many times from Europe to the USA we love Florida! but please be aware of American Vacation Homes, i think they are a disgrace for bonafide rental companies. We have rented a Vacation Villa which was disgusting dirty, hair in the bathroom from previous owners, dirty bedlinnen, the Pool was not cleaned during our 3 weeks stay, the filter was not running, poollights not working, poolalarm not working, no fire extinghuiser in the house
Cracked bathroom tiles, sharp nails sticking out of the carpet..and no response when we try to contact their office on the so called 24hrs telephone number. They have truly destroyed what should have been our family fun vacation.

Nice House, but Beware of Owner
|
|
|
A few weeks after our stay, I received a check for $70 and a copy of an invoice from the maintenance department for $230 for screen repair. The screens were not damaged by me or my group. One of our group mentioned to me that as he walked around the outside of the house during our stay, he noticed that the screens looked loose, but he didn't feel it needed attention, so we did not report it. After receiving the check, I asked the member of my group to call and explain the situation to Dennis Kerames (home owner). After a few weeks, I still did not receive the money, so I called Dennis and left a message, but I did not hear back him. Then, I sent an email to Karen Kerames (home owner) describing the events that had already occurred. She responded back with a slightly different story, than Dennis' story, about how they found out that the screens were in need of repair. Dennis said the outside maintenance crew noticed the screens were loose, but Karen said that the renters who came in after us notified her that the screens were loose. At this point, I am thinking something doesn't sound right. I have houses before and never had any security deposit money withheld. I am a very good renter with a history of great rental experience. I rented a house last year in Orlando from Curtis Waterman, through VRBO. Curtis was surprised that I left his house in such GREAT condition. I left the Kerames' house in the exact same GREAT condition as I received it. They are asking me to pay for a repair that I had nothing to do with. I am still trying to my remaining $230 mailed to me. It's a nice house, but asking a renter to pay the owner's upkeep is not fair.
