61. Do Not Use VacationHomes.com (Scams all Over)


Here is an email I sent to VacationHomes.com today. I found multiple fake listings while looking for less than 10 minutes today. I called VacationHomes.com, but we directed to a voicemail each time. This site is absolutely bogus. Do not rent a home on there.

I am with Five Star Beach Properties in Destin, Florida. We received a concern from a guest who saw a 'cloned property' on your website at a 1/5 of the price. Someone has stolen our property information and photos and created a listing here:

If you guys can't control your website I am going to let everyone know not to use it. I am also sending this to the BBB.

62. Beware of OFFMAR, LLC


I paid $5400 to Jeff Glovsky of OFFMar, LLC for a Miami Beach vacation rental for the month of February; $2700 for the rent, $2700 for the Security Deposit. He has many listings on Craigslist. I have it in writing from him that we "..left the unit in better condition than we found it." Jeff Glovsky has acknowledged that he owes us our full deposit back. Our contract states it was to be returned 15 days after vacating the unit - i.e., March 15, 2010. Yet today it is May 30, 2010 and Jeff Glovsky has offered us nothing but 5 bounced checks. When I demanded a cashier's check he promised to send one a number of times and I have e-mails stating that these checks were in the mail. Yet nothing was ever sent, nothing ever showed up. I am still waiting for my money.

Please beware in renting from OFFMAR!!!

63. Beware of Jeff Glovsky of Offmarr llc


Beware of Jeff Glovsky of Offmarr llc. He is a liar, a thief, and a paranoid. He is such a liar that he is convincing himself that his lies are the truth. He put my listing on GRaiggs list without my authorization, he kept part of the rent. After that he issued me a check that bounced. Since it is a felony in Florida to write checks that bounce I am reporting him to the police.

64. dispute with rental agency


I rented a beach condo from this agency and paid 516.00 for 4 nights. the unit was noisy and not completely cleaned, I tried over and over to contact the agency, they did not call me back, I eneded up staying 2 nights and wanted to move to another unit or get a refund for the nights I did not stay and some of my cleaning fee and taxes back. I finially reached one of the agents and she was so rude to me, she did not try to accomodate me whatsoever. I vacated the unit on the 3rd morning and drove around all day waiting for the agency to call me and talk to me about getting another unit or refund, about 6 in the afternoon I spoke with Tina Howard and she agreed to send me 190.00 of the 516.00 I paid. I was not very happy about it but accepted. it has been over a month and they will not return my calls and have not sent a check to me. they were not professional at all and were so rude. they don't even have an office I can go to, they have a post office box address!I had to rent for 2 more nights somewhere else and wasted an entire day waiting for the agency to resolve something with me.

65. 4328 Harbor Port Charlotte


Mark Parquette, the landlord of 4328 Harbor, refuses to return our $900 security deposit claiming that our cats did damage to his 6 year old furniture and values that at $2,500. We have provided him with statements from our Vet stating the cats have no claws, he has talked to the vet in person to hear the same. Even if we somehow did damage WHICH WE DIDNT similar furniture can be purchased for less than $200 at craigs list. He is defrauding us by neglecting to notify us by certified mail,( within in 30 days per florida statue) of his claim. In general the house was dirty with numerous parts broken

66. Beware of Jeff Glovsky, OFFMAR LLC, Sun Sexy Platinum Services- SCAM ARTIST


Do NOT rent from this man. He will take your LARGE security deposit and will not pay you back. He is running a business to scam people out of their money. But we wont let him. Jeff has several listing on craigslist through offmar or sunsexyplatinum, he had to change his name because all the people he has screwed caught up to him. He is the poorest excuse for a businessman that I have ever seen, a total scam artist. I just want my money back

67. No $1012.50 refund by Dale Stuhr President of Far South Investments and Far South Properties


Florida Key Vacationers beware don’t become a victim of Dale Stuhr President of Far South Investments; the internet pictures on his web site and his listings a few other locations does not reflect the actual condition of his rental. My family & I were shocked upon our arrival on February 21, 2010. We walked into this dirty rental unit with a rusty fridge and stove (with bug traps on it), missing vertical window blinds with no privacy, moldy wood work, water stained walls with paint peeling, broken night stand, cracked/chipped glass table with scotch tape covering the chip, dirty chairs, noisy air conditioner ect. It was not the pictures that Dale sent us when we made our reservations. We walked out!
I immediately called Dale demanding a refund and we stayed in Key Largo.
But Dale promised a refund of my $1012.50 on his payable cycle on April 1st. This is the email Dale sent on March 2, 2010
” Len, I have been waiting to confirm your address. Now that I have it, you will receive your refund on our payables cycle on the 1st of April as it missed this month. I hope your stay in the Keys improved after our last conversation. Dale”
To date Dale has not followed thru with his commitment to pay, I was mislead by internet fraudulent pictures of this unit located at 895 98th Street Ocean, Marathon, Florida 33050 and I am willing to forward them to anyone upon request. Email address is mrbigshot@atlanticbb.net

After numerous attempts to acquire my refund with no success, I have contacted many organizations & agencies with great support and information including the Marathon Chamber of Commerce, West Palm Beach Better Business Bureau, Office of the Attorney General Florida, Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services, City of Marathon and most recent the Department of Business & Professional Regulations who completed an inspection of this unit and turned up 9 violations, some of the problems that we encountered when we entered the unit with a few others, 2 of the 9 were critical violations. Again please don’t become a victim…….Thanks Len

68. Fraud


On April 3rd 2010, I rented an apartment for a 1-month stay in Miami Beach. I paid a $1500 refundable deposit to the agent who found me the property, Jeff Glovsky. On May 3rd I moved out but never got the deposit back. I have a contract that says that the deposit was supposed to be returned within 15 days. The owner of the apartment has also attested that I left the apartment in perfect conditions and the deposit is due back to me, but the Jeff Glovsky will simply not return the money.

I found several others who had the same experience with Glovsky. From all the reports, it looks like he's a professional scam artist.

During my stay, he also asked me to loan him $15,000 promising a quick return and interest so he could pay off a debt with some other client. Another time, he asked for a similar deal with $4,000. In both cases I declined. But I am wondering if he could be up to a Ponzi scheme.

This guy is still renting apartments and getting away with fraud. Beware!!

69. Victoria Park's building turned into a ghetto - where's the owner?


One of the most beautiful and quiet areas of Ft. Lauderdale - Victoria Park - is not everywhere the same. A building 1180 NE 1st Street, 33301 has many problems. The problem with ACs was eventually solved, but another still there - it is the most noisy place in whole Victoria Park. Neighbours complains they cannot sleep at night. Some tenants leave their dogs alone in apartments and this poor animals barking all night, waking up neighbours families and building's tenants.
Night on June 17, a dog was barking several hours on 2nd floor till 1:30 am. After it was over, and we thought we can sleep, some people went out on the street and have started to whistle...
Next morning people from buildings around have to go work...
Person, who suppose to maintain this building doesn't speak English and practically cannot communicate proper and perform his work. He is bringing the ghetto's culture to the building, trying to rule the local community of this building, bothering tenants for no reason, knocking to their doors... People who maintain building should know what they should do and how to do this important job not disturbing tenants.

70. Security Deposit just an extra fee!


Friendly, bubbly Beverly disappeared after cashing our security deposit in the amount of $500.00! The security deposit was not mentioned in initial communications. It was required after we arrived. The condo was left spotless, and everything was in working order, as we found it. Never heard from Beverly again, despite repeated attempts to contact her. This must be the latest Florida vacation home scam because there really is no recourse. BEWARE! Make an arrangement to safeguard your security deposit from being taken without reason. Or consider the price of the condo you rent to be $500.00 more than stated!
