Rented this home for a week in July 2009, and have not received security deposit of $250.00 back. Owner wil Not answer his phone. We have left 3 voicemail messages, and he has not called back. We had a written contract, and are planning on suing if we can figure a way to do it from out of state. The house was decent enough, but it's outrageous that he just keeps our deposit and has NEVER contacted us since the rental. There was no damage, and no accusations from him on anything, so he simply is just stealing that money.
Send $3210.00 to Ronald and Sharon Gedney with the understanding that keys and receipt would be delivered on March 17th, 2009 for a check in of April 5, 2010. After payment was accepted, Ronald then e-mailed stating that an additional $2000 was required for a hurricane insurance deposit. No keys or receipt was received. After contacting Miami Beach Police, it was determined that no address or house existed. I am now in a law suit and legal situation to attempt to receive $3210.00 back for fraud and grand theft.
The most prominent neighborhood in the area with the biggest rip-off home rental. I am surprised the home owner's association even allows this home to exist without repair. The driveway is buckled severely and the vegetation is dead. A seriously neglected home. The inside is riddled with issues. One of the upstairs bedrooms has no working outlets and only half the lights work. The dishwasher doesn't leak, it floods. The entire kitchen rug was soaked every day. All of the 1st floor large windows were void of curtains, though there were great rods for them on each. There is no grill for which to grill dinner and the hot water heater bit the dust mid-week. There was nowhere near enough cutlery for the number of guests the house advertises and the knife set cannot cut a sponge, let alone a piece of meat. This is only the tip of the iceberg on this waste of money and when I went to the realtor to voice all of this, they were not willing to discount a dime and instead stated they have no time to inspect all of their rentals and that they rely in the outgoing renters to let them know of issues. Are they serious?????
