Rental agency withheld depost for cleaning when infact the Villa was cleaner than first arrived 6 months ago. Rental agency will not return my calls. I paid $300 REFUNDAL deposit and $100 NON refundable cleaning deposit.
Letter sent from Bob Edwards to Logn Realty Green Valley Rentals:
May 9, 2008
Miss Fletcher
I received your letter today with the added item list. I was about to let this matter go and chock it up to a unprofessional rental service needing carpets cleaned as the property was put up for sale after I left. But now you have slandered me with this new list of LIES. I plan on suing you personally and your company for those slanderous remarks. I DON'T care how much it costs or how long it takes!
Item 1 and item 2 bloody towels and or feces in the towels. This would be difficult since I brought 5 of my own bath towels and only used kitchen dishcloths. I NEVER used the house towels. Any one that knows me that I would never do this. Yes, and only time there was blood during my lease period was in Sailerno Italy in Dec when I cut my self shaving.
Item 3 chipped mugs. These items came pre chipped and Pre stained I might add.
During my stay in at this premise, I had several friends over who are respected people in Green Valley, one who is a retired Actress and local politician. She will attest to the conditions of the dishes and the premise.
Are you sure someone did not enter this premise after I left? You were made aware that most any house key, including my own would unlock those old doors. You can only be making up these LIES to protect your company's reputation, something I am learning is not that great to begin with. If I had known what you were really like, I would NEVER have leased with you. Maybe I can find ways to help others from being accused of placing feces in towels and taken advantaged of! I feel sorry for the very old people that use your service, bet you really stick it to them and get away with it! Now I know why there are web sites like Watchdog. They probably booked through you.
I hope you kept the towels for possible blood and feces DNA tests. You are going to need them!
I have currently 2 private parties and 1 rental agency that will supply letters describing how I have left premises after long term rentals, two on the Big Island and one in Mexico.
I cannot believe Realty would make up these lies about blood and feces.
I will see you in court for a full refund of my deposit and the full refund the 6 months of rental payments! Oh yes, and all legal fees! Maybe Ill win, maybe I will loose but you can be guaranteed , I will be there!

Very disappointing
|
|
|
It is actually located about 10 miles south of Queen Creek, rather than in the city itself. The house was hard to find and instructions for getting to it were complicated. There wasn't any information available so we could use the amenities listed; we had to figure everything out on our own. The furniture is old and uncomfortable, and my neck got so stiff while I was there that I actually ended up going to the doctor.
There were numerous problems with plumbing, carpeting, and other miscellaneous issues. Some were caused by previous renters, some by poor craftsmanship. The caretaker, MJ, eventually got to most of them but was hard to get a hold of.
But my biggest complaint is that they charged me $100 for shampooing the carpets and doing some plumbing in the bathroom to remove the hair clog that the previous renters left. When I questioned it, the owner responded, "The work of cleaning the carpet and the plumbing has already been done and paid for. MJ did a walk through with you initially and you didn't tell MJ that the carpet looked dirty."
I am very disappointed and feel that they took advantage of me to recuperate the money they lost by refunding the previous renters' deposit.

Falling apart
|
|
|
Our family stayed at the above mentioned property from March 7 to March 14, 2009. While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tucson we wanted to make you aware of the problems we had with the home and its owner. I should mention we have stayed at several vacation rental homes in the past and have had nothing but pleasant experiences with the owners and rental agents.
I’ll start with the major items not working. The Dishwasher was literally falling apart: the front panel fell off and the control panel was hanging by its wires. My wife called the service number and eventually spoke to the owner. He said the dishwasher was being replaced the following week. My wife said we should receive a discount for a non-functioning appliance. He became angry and said we were actually saving money by not going to a hotel but did agree to look at it that evening. He propped the panel back up but it fell off the next time we lowered the door.
On Tuesday evening none of our bathroom outlets were working. On Wednesday morning I left a message with the service indicated in the house book. After no return call that day I left another message in the evening offering to flip the breaker or GFI myself (I believe the GFI was in one of the locked closets). Both messages were ignored. For the remainder of the week my daughters blow dried their hair in front of their reflections on the microwave oven in the kitchen. Not a hardship by any means but certainly not what you’d expect from a “luxury” rental.
The following are direct quotes from the house book:
“Please leave a message and your call will be returned during business hours”.
“We conduct scheduled home maintenance on a regular basis”.
“If, during your stay, any major appliances are not working please contact us”.
Other items not working properly:
Both back porch lights were not working, making it difficult to grill at night.
The gas stove continued to click as if we were still trying to light it and during the entire cooking process.
Some of the remote controls did not work due to missing batteries.
One bedroom didn’t have a remote control at all.
Kitchen drawers did not work properly.
“Gourmet” kitchen disappointments:
The absolute bare minimum of pots, pans, and bowls.
A terrible selection of cheap, dull, knives.
Misrepresentation: A photo on the website showed beautiful patio furniture for outdoor dining that was not there when we stayed. The photo has since been removed from the site.
The tone of the house book can be summed up this way: “Welcome to Tucson. Don’t screw up”.
On the last page is the aforementioned price per square foot as opposed to a hotel and how much money we are saving. A list follows with $50.00 fines for not performing certain tasks during the week.
One of those tasks is putting the trash out at 7 AM on Friday. I set my alarm for 6:55 AM only to be awakened at 6:40 by the garage door opening directly under our bedroom. I met him in the garage and we both put the trash out (some of the trash was from grounds keeping and not ours). Why weren’t we contacted and asked to put the additional trash out with ours? We would have been glad to, my wife wouldn’t have been needlessly wakened, and a trip up the mountain could have been saved.
This is our first experience with Ultimateluxuryhomerentals.com but we have had nothing but good experiences with the VRBO wed site. Hopefully this information can help you better serve your clients in the future. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.
Sincerely,
Jim and Laura Hamilton

Postscript: I just talked with Laura (520-878-6114), the woman who helped us decide and recommended this rental. I tried to let her know about the things with which we were unhappy. Her response: Anger. “Don’t bother me, talk to Ron”. It fits perfectly with our entire experience at this rental.

Failed to refund our deposit
|
|
|
We stayed at the home from October 31 to November 6th. Even though, we had an email confirming our seven nights (until November 7th), Ron kicked us out a day early. We left the house in excellent condition and he and his workers were there when we left.
The house had many problems with wiring, lighting, the pool, the toaster, the coffee pot, etc. In fact, the pool was scummy the whole time that we were there. They were not very responsive until it came time to kick us out a day early and then he decided that he could fix the pool! He said that it was not his problem that the pool had problems but I said that no it probably wasn't but it was his problem to FIX it!
They even wanted us, senior citizens, to take the garbage down to the road which was at the bottom of a very steep driveway. Their maintenance man took the garbage cans outside and the pigs got into it.....terrible mess that WE had to clean up.
After almost two months, he still has not refunded our deposit and keeps coming up with reasons not to refund the $500 to us. First, he was three weeks behind in refunding (not my problem) and now after almost two months, his sister was in the hospital. Not my problem. For the same time that it took to send me an email, he could have refunded the money.
