Here is an email I sent to VacationHomes.com today. I found multiple fake listings while looking for less than 10 minutes today. I called VacationHomes.com, but we directed to a voicemail each time. This site is absolutely bogus. Do not rent a home on there.
I am with Five Star Beach Properties in Destin, Florida. We received a concern from a guest who saw a 'cloned property' on your website at a 1/5 of the price. Someone has stolen our property information and photos and created a listing here:

We tried calling both numbers listed and did not get a person. Please remove this listing. I do not know if there are any other of our properties that have been copied, but you probably should remove. I am forwarding all of this information to www.vrwd.org. If you guys can't control your website I am going to let everyone know not to use it. I am also sending this to the BBB.
They stayed in perfect contact with me sending me pictures, everything. I even have a signed contract!!! I now have the false documents and they have my money!
vacationhomes.com is one big scam and cannot be trusted in anyway!!
Had my friend not drove up there, my entire wedding party would be stranded after flying thousands of miles.
Do not trust the names Julie Teng, Namrata Ralhan or Tim Ray!! Or any listing on vacationhomes.com Find it on another website.
I rented the above property from vacation homes.com # 39801. As of today 10/5/2011, property # 39801 has been removed from the web site and no one is answering the phones. I spoke with Roming Medina on 10/3/2011 , phone # 1-888-689-9709 from Vacation Homes in El Sequndo, CA. He asked if I had spoken to the owner and if I had information from the web site. He suggested that I find alternate place to stay and it may be a fruad. He did not offer any other advice. He did ask if I read the small print on how to protect myself from fradulant listings. I have since been unable to reach him or anyone else.
