1. Withheld Deposit.......... Will Not Call Back


Rented this home for a week in July 2009, and have not received security deposit of $250.00 back. Owner wil Not answer his phone. We have left 3 voicemail messages, and he has not called back. We had a written contract, and are planning on suing if we can figure a way to do it from out of state. The house was decent enough, but it's outrageous that he just keeps our deposit and has NEVER contacted us since the rental. There was no damage, and no accusations from him on anything, so he simply is just stealing that money.

2. Poor customer service


I co-rented this property with a friend this past August. Throughout the entire process we had issues contacting this owner. She failed to return phone calls and emails on numerous occasions. There was a discrepancy in the initial contract regarding the security deposit and number of guests. We had to request another copy with corrections. The website advertises this home sleeps 6, however we were told we could not add guests. Upon our arrival we discovered a lock box on the door and could not gain access. We attempted to call the "emergency" phone number for the next 2 hours. Fortunately we discovered an unlocked door in the rear of the property. We did not hear from the owner until 1:00 pm the following day. There were issues with the home as well including: broken pool vacuum and resultant green water, broken shower faucet and temperature control, and broken dining room table. Fortunately we took photos upon our arrival and exit to protect ourselves. Several days after our stay we inquired when we might expect a check for our security deposit. This owner responded with a list of damages stating her property manager had sent this list previously. Upon further investigation while my friend was checking her spam folder from work, which she I never uses for personal email, she did discover a message. Interestingly enough the list of damages did not match. I have sent 2 emails disputing the damages and addressing the discrepancies but have not received any response. We still have not received a check for any amount of our security deposit. This was a beautiful home, however I would never stay at this home again due to the poor customer service.
