Las Hadas Getaway in Manzanillo, Mexico
We rented this condo for Feb./11 through ownerdirect.com and it was advertised as 'Las Hadas Getaway' - has nothing to do with Las Hadas. Initially the price was $1,500 U.S. for the month but we negotiated it down to $1,200. When we arrived there, we were stunned…the place was a dump and the photos on the website did not represent the condition of the condo. None of the amenities that the owner promised were there…microwave, coffee maker, toaster…and there were no clean linens at all - the sheets were soiled with blood and the one bath towel was not clean. The place was full of part packages of food stuffs, toiletries and clothing belonging to the person who usually rents the place. We found out that the owner usually rents it out for $400 per month…probably what its worth. The kitchen and bathroom were disgusting. We spent our only night there sleeping on chairs and using our beach towels as blankets. The owner was not amenable to refunding our rent but offered a meager amount for US to go out and buy the missing items. It wasn’t enough money to buy the items that were supposed to be there and it wouldn’t change the fact that the condo was a dump. Avoid this place!
