The house was filty, had roof leaks everywhere, infested with bugs, and overall had no maintenace done on it for at least 10 years. UNRENTABLE! He does not return phone calls, e-mails, or YOUR DEPOSIT! He takes the property off the vacation rentals sites once it is rented early spring so renters cannot post comments about the property. I have found his name on tyhis site 3 times so far and he is consistent, HE DOES NOT RETURN DEPOSITS OR CALLS! He is a fraud and a theif in my book and I am going to persure action against him.
Looked over the place and agreed that I took fine care of it and would get my security deposit. They also told me they would buy back any excess firewood that I did not use, so there was no worry in buying too much from them. As it turns out, they will not pay me the security deposit owed to me (blaming me for damages that were already there when I moved in) and they will not buy back the cord of firewood like they said they would. The cottage is on a beautiful piece of land, but the cottage itself is not in great shape. The furnishings seem to be castoffs from Goodwill (threadbare, dirty and worn). It was not cleaned before I moved in. There are water leaks in the living room, critters in the attic, and the window latches are broken so you can't open them, etc. Definately better places in the area than this.
I rented this property located at 19 Island View Avenue in Ferry Beach, Saco Maine from Mike Wiley, the owner of the property who rents through his own website at http://www.mainebeachrental.com. He requested a $1000 security deposit, which he claimed he would return on the Monday following my departure. As the deposit was not returned, I followed up with him and he finally wrote back saying "I will get you back your security deposit today". That was the last communication I have received and since then my inquiries have gone unanswered.
I have since come accross two other people who have had the same exeperience with Mike Wiley for this property.
