We vacationed here for a week in May 2009 with our two small dogs. We overlooked many issues while we were there, trying to enjoy our vacation. We left the place immaculate, and in better working order than we found it- my husband had to take apart and reconstruct the grill because the gas line wasn't connected. Two weeks after our stay I contacted the landlord/owner Jay Hutchins who stated we weren't getting our $200.00 security deposit back because his housekeeper found a "scratch" on a bookcase which was supposedly not there before our stay.
He also stated that we never notified him that we were bringing our dogs- however I had the emails to prove that we gave him ample notice and information about our dogs before any contracts were signed.
Do not rent from this owner/landlord, this was most definitely a ploy to get additional funds from us without a reason. We still have not received a single penny back from our $200.00 deposit.
