The pictures show a well taken care of home. Their claims and pics are a misrepresentation of the truth. The furniture shown is not what's in the house. The sofa is broken down and is sitting on phone books and pieces of wood to hold it up. When we arrived it was grossly filthy. We worked for three hours to clean it. I had to plunge the bathtub for 15 minutes and pull out large globs of "hair" to make it habitable. The cleaning "crew" left laundry in the washer and dryer. They had washed the bathroom rugs with the bed linens.
The yard is a total mess. There is no view except trash. It is sadly unkept. It could be a nice place but is not cared for at all. There is no air conditioning and it is hot hot hot in the summer. The water has to be hauled in in a container truck and deposited in a tank.
When I sent in my comments to VRBO the Sharpell's opted out of allowing comments concerning the listing.
I hate for anyone else to spend such a large amount to spend a week living like 'trailer trash".
We were excited to stay in this home based on the pictures we saw and the mountain views, but we were very disappointed upon our arrival. The first thing we saw was garbage cans out front overflowing with garbage. The kitchen had crumbs on the counter tops, thick grime on the stove, and a full pot of old coffee left for us to discover. We quickly realized there were also only 2 rolls of toilet paper in the entire house. The kitchen cabinets are dirty, we found garbage in the drawers and the inside of the cabinets have not been wiped down in a very long time. We then walked over to the guest house to find a filthy bathroom. The toilet was soiled with feces, and urine which was also on the wall. The guest shower had strands of hair strewn all over the walls and floor with use shampoo bottles. The mirror had not been cleaned, the sink and counter was dirty with hair and toothpaste and the sink was loose and not secured to the counter top. We ended up having to clean this soiled bathroom ourselves. The living room area in the guest house also had chip crumbs and garbage on the floor. The owners claimed this house has been professionally cleaned, but it was dirty and dusty. The home is more dated than the pictures depict and the owners did not promptly address how we were going to be compensated for arriving to such a dirty home. We were surprised by how inconvenienced the owners were by our calls because they were on vacation too. The air conditioner also stopped working on the hottest day of our trip. We had to sleep one night in almost 90 degree temperatures. It turned out the air filter was completed caked in dust. The owners were supposed to call us to let us know it was fixed and to compensate us for all the inconveniences. We NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. I would never stay in this home again, and would not recommend it to anyone.
